Johansen IAS

Johansen Individualised Auditory Stimulation (IAS) is a home-based sound therapy programme. It involves listening to sounds specifically designed to stimulate nerve pathways, and gently change and organise auditory processing and improve language skills.

Good listening is an important requirement for the maturity of auditory processing that support speech, language and literacy development. Johansen IAS addresses underlying auditory processing which helps better concentration and attention, allowing for more efficient learning.

  • Easily distracted

  • Hyper-Sensitive to loud noises

  • Misunderstands communication

  • Appears confused by multiple lengthy instructions

Also, children and adults with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders may have inefficient auditory processing.

The Johansen IAS programme delivered by Neuro-Connections involves initial consultation, standardised audio tests, and development of a custom programme of audio, to be used 10 minutes a day over a period of months. 

Improvements following IAS are generally seen in overall composure, motivation, increased confidence and self-esteem.
